Team-

Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of Steve’s death. I hope everyone will reflect on what he meant to all of us and to the world. Steve was an amazing human being and left the world a better place. I think of him often and find enormous strength in memories of his friendship, vision and leadership. He left behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We will continue to honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to the work he loved so much. There is no higher tribute to his memory. I know that he would be proud of all of you.

Best,

Tim

On the first anniversary of Jobs' passing, Apple replaced its website's home page with a video tribute to the man himself, and we wouldn't be at all surprised to see a similar occurrence when its 5th October in Cupertino. With the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c still in their infancy, Apple will likely still replace them on the home screen in favor of showing their roots by remembering Jobs.

Since Apple was placed under the stewardship of Tim Cook, the company has arguably gone from strength to strength on the back of multiple high profile product releases that have seen Apple's sales reach record levels. There's little doubt the company is in good hands, but no matter how well Apple performs under Cook, he's still not Steve Jobs.

Just to take a small trip down memory lane, we’ve embedded the remarkable - and rather monumental - keynote in which Steve Jobs introduces the original iPhone to the world in back 2007:

And here is the official Apple tribute to Steve Jobs video from last year:

They say that time passes quicker the older you get, which might explain why we’re almost at the 2nd anniversary of Steve Jobs’ death after the Apple co-founder, visionary and CEO passed following complications relating to his cancer. The time really has flown, and Apple shows no sign of forgetting its shining light.

Writing in a letter to all Apple employees, current CEO and the man Jobs helped pick as his eventual replacement, Tim Cook, asked everyone connected to the company to reflect on what Jobs meant to the wider world as well as the company that he helped build. Twice.
