Apple Announces March 21st Event “Let Us Loop You In” For 4-Inch iPhone SE, 9.7-Inch iPad Pro

A fair few of us around the world have already had March 21st preliminarily blacked out in our diaries. Speculation over the last few weeks had pin-pointed that particular day as the day that Tim Cook would once again adorn the stage to introduce a slew of new Apple products. Well, the Cupertino-based company has now officially confirmed those rumors, and has issued official press invites that outlines the date and time of the event, as well as the location where all of the magic will presumably happen.

The event titled “Let us loop you in” will be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino on Monday, March 21st, 2016 at 10:00am Pacific Time.

There’s been a huge amount of talk over the last eight weeks or so about what we can expect to see during the event itself. First and foremost, Tim Cook is expected to officially introduce the much talked about iPhone SE, which will be the latest addition to the company’s 4-inch iPhone range. That hardware is likely to come equipped with the aesthetic of the iPhone 5s, but with the internals of the current flagship, the iPhone 6s. Minus the existence of 3D Touch, of course. That specification would likely include an A9/M9 processor/coprocessor setup, as well as 2GB RAM and a 12-megapixel rear camera with Live Photos support, NFC for Apple Pay, among other things. It is expected to cost between $400-$500 for the unlocked model.

Interestingly, Apple is also expected to use the event to provide a first glimpse of its new 9.7-inch iPad Pro model. Rather than going with the iPad Air 3 branding, Apple is expected to attempt to try and add a more professional sound and feel to its tablet range by taking everything across to the “Pro” naming convention. It’s likely that the 9.7-inch model will differ from the 12.9-inch iPad Pro only in size, but will feature the same specification and underlying technology as its bigger brother. That will include a huge 4GB RAM, an integrated A9X SoC, 4-speaker system, Smart Connector for connecting accessories like Apple’s Smart Keyboard, as well as support for Apple Pencil.

Apple is also expected to announce new accessories for Apple Watch, and release final versions of iOS 9.3, watchOS 2.2, tvOS 9.2, OS X 10.11.4 to public.

It’s now a case of sitting back, trying to decipher any hidden meanings in the “Let us loop you in” event invite, and watching the time pass by until we get to experience yet another Apple media spectacle.
