Apple released the seventh beta of iOS 26 to developers and public beta testers this week, with a couple of changes compared to the previous release. One of those changes is the addition of a new toggle for battery-related notifications.
Earlier iOS 26 betas had added support for Adaptive Power, a feature that automatically adjusts iPhone services and app performance when the battery has been detected to be draining more quickly than usual.

The feature has been available throughout the beta process, but the latest beta adds support for a new notification toggle.
Apple’s new description for the toggle reads:
When your battery usage is higher than usual, iPhone can extend your battery life by making performance adjustments, such as lowering display brightness, allowing some activities to take longer, or turning on Low Power Mode at 20%.

Apple has been testing the iOS 26 software in beta form for weeks now. It was announced at WWDC on June 9 and that’s also when the first developer beta was made available for download.
Apple has yet to confirm when the iOS 26 beta will be released to the public, but we do know that it will happen this September. If Apple sticks to its previous release schedules, it’s likely that Apple will release iOS 26 to the public in the second or third week of the month.
