AirPods Release Date Now Set For December According To A Czech Apple-Authorized Reseller

While Apple is yet to provide a definite release date for its AirPods, Czech Republic’s largest online retailer and Apple reseller lists the product as being available in December.

Apple announced the AirPods back in September alongside the iPhone 7, but alas, here we are, a couple of months later and we are still without not only the earphones themselves, but even a official concrete release date for the wireless version of the popular EarPods.

Initially, Apple listed them as coming in late October. End of October, it was reported Apple has pushed the release back citing unknown hardware and software issues. Last week, a new report had AirPods release coming this week but as we know now even that didn’t happen.

Now, in the absence of anything out of Apple beyond the ominous “unavailable” tag besides the AirPods in Apple’s online store, we are left to listen to what the Czech Republic’s largest online retailer and Apple reseller Alza.cz has to say on the matter. As it turns out, quite a bit.

As first noted by Czech site Letem svetem Applem, the Apple reseller’s website now lists the AirPods as being available in December. Some had hoped for a late November release while others are still expecting the earphones to be pushed back to 2017 given production issues that have reportedly delayed launch this far. We think that December, sitting right in the middle of existing rumors, could be the best guess yet as to when the AirPods will go on sale.

Apple will ideally want to get them on store shelves before the holiday season is over, especially if new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners are going to need a set of Bluetooth earphones in order to replace that Lightning port option.

Priced at $159, some demonstration units for the AirPods have been seen arriving at some Apple Stores, suggesting a release is edging ever closer.
