Apple is expected to announce a special 20th-anniversary iPhone in 2027, and a new report claims that the device will have a new type of curved display that will make the display’s bezels essentially invisible.
That’s according to leaker Ice Universe, who says that the new display will not be a traditional one like those found on iPhones and Android phones today.

In fact, they say that the new display will have a subtle curve at the edges that will make the bezels disappear to the user.
“What truly creates the visual impact may be a sophisticated combination of optical refraction, light guiding structures, and carefully engineered visual illusion,” the leaker said in a post on the X social network. “The end result could be a display where the bezel nearly disappears from sight, while edge viewing remains natural and undisturbed.”
To make this possible, previous leaks have already suggested that Apple has lined up Samsung Display to produce the 20th-anniversary iPhone’s OLED panel.
That panel will use Color Filter Encapsulation technology, allowing it to remove the usual polarizing layer from the display altogether. The move will make for a thinner, brighter display than traditional OLED panels.
Apple isn’t expected to announce the 20th-anniversary iPhone until the fall of next year at the earliest, however. That means that there is plenty of time for Apple’s plans to change.
