Apple’s iPhone Duo won’t be available for preorder until October 16, but those looking to get their orders in as soon as possible can get ahead of the game right now.
Heading into the Apple Store website or the Apple Store app now allows you to plan your preorder ahead of time.

The “Get ready for pre-order” option is designed to make it quicker and easier for iPhone buyers to complete the checkout process on the big day, and it’s specific or new to the iPhone Duo. But it’s a process that may be worthwhile given the expected limited number of iPhone Duo handsets that are expected to be available.
The process allows users to select things like the iPhone Duo color, storage capacity, and carrier details as well as get the ball rolling on any trade-in programs. The Apple Upgrade program is also supported, too.
Once complete, this process allows preorders to be placed with just a few taps come preorder day, allowing users to get through the process much more quickly than those starting from scratch.
The iPhone Duo goes up for preorder on the 16th before officially going on sale on October 23. Prices start at just shy of $2,000 for the 256GB model, with other storage options available.
