This iWatch Concept Features Curved Display, Product Page And Video Commercials

The Apple iWatch has been rumored year-in, year-out, but with rumors suggesting that the Cupertino’s inaugural smartwatch effort has its own dedicated development team echoing the sentiments of analysts that the device will finally manifest in 2014, we’re very much hoping that the announcement of the elusive gadget is imminent. Hitherto, there’s been a distinct lack of hard evidence with regards to the device, with only tidbits of speculation allied to numerous concepts, but today’s render of a curved iWatch design is one of the better ones we’ve stumbled across so far.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO has alluded to “new product categories” releasing from the fruit company this year, and although this could relate to any one of a number of rumored devices, there’s a genuine consensus that this year, Apple will finally come through and challenge the likes of the Sony Smartwatch, Samsung’s Gear range and of course, the Pebble.

Only a couple of days ago, Nike, one of Apple’s closest allies, laid off a large portion of the workforce behind the FuelBand sports wearable, and given that Cook himself is a board member of the renowned sports brand, it always seemed like the release of an iWatch would represent something of a conflict of interest between the two cronies. With Nike having cooled things down as far as the FuelBand is concerned, though, the stage is now set for iWatch to burst onto the scene.

And timely a release it would be. As well as the aforementioned trio, Google only recently took the wraps off Android Wear, its smartwatch-tuned flavor of Android, and with HTC, LG, Motorola and several others all lined up to release their own devices, Apple will not want to let some of the other major tech companies establish themselves.

The folks of If You Could See The Future have drawn up a curved iWatch concept in black, gold and white, and even though it does look rather like a squished up iPhone with a strap, it does look rather like something Apple would come up with. The folks behind the concept have gone one further than your usual designers, creating a mock-up of the Apple website that showcases all of the watch’s features.
