This Case For iPad Is Dust, Shock And Waterproof, Does So Without Hampering User-Experience [VIDEO]

LifeProof case

Tthe case covers all important ports of the iPad which makes it waterproof in up to 6.6 feet of water for 30 minutes. It is also dust proof, snow proof and shock proof (up to 4 feet drops).

Its design is a little different compared to other cases which claim to be waterproof. It's not as bulky or as intrusive to your iPad experience. The LifeProof case doesn't create any gaps or leaks between the iPad's display and screen protector (as other cases do, apparently). They do this by not adding any extra layer of protection for the display because it's enough on its own, according to the folks at LifeProof at least. This results in a better user-experience since the case doesn't interfere in any way with the touch-screen.

Other features include unhindered access to all buttons, a crystal clear glass lens for the camera and a sound enhancement system that improves the sound coming from the iPad's speakers.

The case is priced at a hefty $160. It supports the iPad 2 and the new iPad. $160 may sound like a lot, but it is a worthwhile investment if you use your iPad in high risk environments such as those with little kids, the beach, icy resorts etc.

I'm not a big fan of cases that claim to be "lifeproof" because they really get in the way the device's design and its user-experience. The case does change the way your device looks and feels in your hands, but at least it doesn't hinder your experience using the touch-screen.
