What with the Galaxy S4 packing in a plethora of new goodies, it's certainly the one to beat in Android space, and since the device packs in temperature, pressure, and a humidity sensors, it is actually capable of providing much truer readings of ambient weather conditions right where you are. This is a big step up from simply downloading information from the Web or via Yahoo!, and since it's more accurate, you don't have that usual uncertainty of whether your handset is spinning you a lie or not.

With the new technologies in mind, the intuitive folk of XDA-Developers have come up with Weather Station, and while its does gather its information using some of your S4's hardware, it also drafts in GPS to calculate certain variables and paint a true picture of your weather conditions.

Information is then collated and can be presented on graphs and tables, and with widget support right off the bat, Weather Station is shaping up to be a very impressive weather app indeed.

At this point in time, the Galaxy S4 is the only handset containing either ambient temperature and humidity sensors, so you will need to be in ownership of Sammy's latest flagship if you want to enjoy this app to the fullest.

Still, considering it's a free one to download, it's well worth checking out if you're intrigued by patterns of weather, and if you do get a chance to give it a blast, please leave your thoughts via the comments section below.

Although many of us treat our smartphones and tablets as consumption devices for gaming, watching movies and reading books, they are also vital hubs of information, reference and productivity. When planning the day ahead, it’s always nice to be able to check the weather at a glance, but often, I find, apps and widgets don’t always update as they should, and even if they do seem to be in sync with the present time, they only offer vague coverage of the surrounding town or city.

Weather Station, a new app released for Android, seeks to bring you as much information as you need about the precipitation, wind speeds, and whether you’ll be seeing any of that beautiful sun, but also makes use of the new ambient sensor technologies seen in the Galaxy S4. More details after the break!
