Here are 8 iOS 16 features that will only work on iPhone 15 Pro or newer devices.

Apple announced the iOS 26 software update during its WWDC opening keynote on June 9, confirming that the update will be available for the most recent iPhones.

However, it has also been confirmed that not all features will be available on every model, including improved Reminders, Shortcuts features, and more.

If you want to make the most of iOS 26 you will need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, while the standard models from the iPhone 16 onwards will also work fine. These new features are often related to Apple Intelligence, although not always.

Apple has confirmed that Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, and the iPhone app will require an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, while Shortcuts actions that use Apple intelligence will also be limited in availability. The same goes for new Reminders suggestions and organization features.

In Messages, the ability to create polls and create background images will be limited to devices that support Apple Intelligence, as will the ability to track packages within the Apple Wallet app.

Predictably, new Genmoji and Image Playground features as well as the ability to use Visual Intelligence after taking a screenshot, will require Apple Intelligence and so will be limited to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 or newer.

We can expect that all of the upcoming iPhone 17 devices will work with all of these new features, of course.
