The iPhone 17 Air Couldn’t Get Any Thinner Or The Capture Button Wouldn’t Fit In

There have been lots of rumors of a new iPhone 17 Air being added to the lineup when it arrives later this year, and we’re starting to see more and more leaks showing us just what it will look like.

The latest suggests that the iPhone 17 Air will be so thin, it’ll barely have enough space for the familiar Capture Button.

Leaker Sonny Dickson has shared photos of new iPhone 17 dummy units that include the base iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The new iPhone 17 Air is also included, and it’s the model that immediately jumps out to onlookers.

The images show that the iPhone 17 Air will be incredibly thin and, likely, light. But the dummy unit also shows that the Capture Button will almost fill one of the sides of the iPhone 17 Air, leaving little room for the model to get any thinner in the future — without changing or replacing the button.

As for the other models, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max all look just as we would expect them to, which is no bad thing.

We also see the new camera layout around the back, complete with a Pixel-like bar that covers the whole width of the device.

If Apple sticks to its usual release pattern, we can expect all four iPhone 17 models to be announced in September, likely alongside a new Apple Watch.
