The Best Android Play Store Apps Of 2013 [List]

Every year in December, the Google Play Store picks the best apps of the twelve months previous, and today, the time has come for the 2013 round-up. With the end of the year quickly approaching, we’re going to be seeing a lot of these “best of” lists, and although you mightn’t agree with every single one of the Play Store picks, there’s still bound to be at least a few gems in there for everybody to appreciate.

To tailor to the needs of most, there’s an eclectic mixture in the “Google Play Picks Apps: Our Best Apps of 2013” selection. There are those to suit the fitness fanatics, apps for kids, note takers, and wannabe photographers. Most of them are free, and having encountered one or two of them myself, I can certainly vouch that there is at least some value in this list.

Runtastic, for example, is a great supplement to the experience of going for a jog. You can measure a casual stroll throughout the park, an intense run on the treadmill, and ever other kind of activity that involves putting one foot in front of the other. It will readily map your entire session, giving you times, speeds, and also offering a GPS map of your route – color coded to see at which points you were fast, and where you might have slacked off.

TuneIn Radio is another wonderful little app, offering anything you could want from a radio service. You can pick up high-quality audio from thousands of services across the world, record, and read all of the info about shows right from the comfort of your device. As a big listener to a wide selection of radio services, I’ve very much enjoyed TuneIn Radio for a long time, and even if you’re on iOS, the app is still worth grabbing.

Of course, what you may consider to be worthy of a “best app” accolade may be completely different to this, but at the end of the day, every entry to this list has, to some degree, deserved its recognition.
