Watchmaker TAG Heuer has announced a new Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch with support for the iPhone for the first time.
The company previously used Google’s Wear OS for its software, but ditching that means that the wearable can boast the “Made for iPhone” badge.

The new smartwatch comes in 40mm and 45mm sizes and use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 5100+ to run its apps. The displays are both AMOLED and the wearable promises strong haptic feedback, a brighter display, and improved touch responsiveness, according to a MacRumors report.
By officially supporting Apple’s “Made for iPhone” program, the new watch will properly pair with an iPhone via Bluetooth and WiFi while also being updated to support the latest iOS features and functionality. It’ll also support more devices, and pair more reliably as a result.
In terms of features, the Connected Calibre E5 has a blood oxygen sensor, heart rate monitoring, and heart rate variability monitoring. Support for dual-band GNSS GPS and a compass is also included. However, there is no support for contactless payments and those looking for cellular connectivity will also be left disappointed.
As for pricing, these aren’t cheap smartwatches. TAG Heuer will sell the Connected Calibre E5 both online and via its stores with prices starting at $1,600. That’s more costly than the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 by some margin.
