Steve Jobs’ Private Funeral Is Taking Place Today

Steve

Steve Jobs was one of the co-founders of Apple Inc. whose reign with the said company proved to be a very fruitful one, and he is the person sole responsible for taking Apple to a phenomenal state which we know today. Despite all his accomplishments and being a prominent face of Apple, his respected funeral will be held very very privately and there will be no public services planned. Wall Street Journal reports:

The funeral for Steve Jobs, Apple Inc.'s co-founder, is taking place Friday, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The funeral is characterized as a small private gathering, this person said. The person wouldn't say where or when the event was taking place, citing respect for Mr. Jobs and his family's privacy.

The location, as you’ve already read in the excerpt above might not be disclosed, but a wild guess would suggest that it would be held where Steve Jobs’ residence is, in Paulo Alto. Apple’s stance regarding the matter is somewhat professional, and they wont’ be holding any sort of public service.

The only thing which will take place in remembrance of Steve Jobs will be a small gathering exclusive to Apple’s staff, and that too will take place very soon, as revealed by the current CEO of Apple Tim Cook in a mail to his employees:

Apple has said there are no public services planned.

In a letter to Apple's employees on Wednesday, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said that the company is "planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life" for staff that will take place soon.

The cause of Steve’s death is currently unknown to public, but different sources suggests pancreatic cancer to be the cause of his death, but that is yet to be confirmed.

On a personal note, I really see Steve Jobs as a very dedicated employee who guided his ship (Apple) in the right direction and took it to heights one can only dream of. Despite of being so unwell, he lead the WWDC keynote this year where iOS 5 and iCloud were unveiled, and he stepped down from CEO position just a month over before his death, for the best interest of Apple Inc.

Though Steve Jobs has left us, but his influence will be seen in Apple for years to come, including the products which will be unveiled in the future, as noted in a report which was published yesterday.
