It’s no surprise that Sony is working on the successor to the PS5 and PS5 Pro, but a leak claims to have information on the as-yet-unannounced PS6.
According to that leak, it’ll be significantly power powerful than the PS5. Importantly, it also claims that there won’t be a price increase to go with that performance.

The leak, thanks to YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, does come with a pretty heavy caveat, though. The leaker notes that the information came from a leaked AMD presentation to Sony from back in 2023. That means that the PS6’s specs could well have changed by now, which means they could have been improved or cut back to reduce costs. Sony, so far, hasn’t said anything about its PS6 plans.
As for the leak, it claims that we can expect three times the performance in terms of 3D rendering performance will be around twice that of the PS5 Pro and three times that of the PS5.
Fans of backward compatibility will be pleased to learn that both PS5 and PS5 games will reportedly work on the PS6, while a price tag of $499 has been suggested. Given the current tariff situation in the United States, however, that price seems more unlikely than it probably did in 2023.
It’s expected that the new PS6 will launch in 2027 or 2028, so there is even more time for these specs and the price to change, so keep that in mind here.
