Samsung Mocks The iPhone Duo Crackgate In New Ad Campaign

Apple’s iPhone Duo has been on sale for a week today, with its first foldable iPhone hard to find in stores and sporting a months-long wait for online orders.

But now, Samsung has begun to mock Apple’s late arrival into the foldable market in a post on Samsung Canada’s Instagram account.

The post, shared by MacRumors, shows Samsung sharing several images with a bright red line appearing to be where several iPhone Duo handset buyers have reported similar issues due to failed displays.

There are three images in total, with a different line of text for each one aimed squarely at Apple.

  • Folding is nothing new to us
  • Folding. We know a thing or eight.
  • Switch to Galaxy Z Fold8

Samsung has long offered its own foldable devices, starting with the first Galaxy Z Fold back in 2019. The latest model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, has been on sale for a few months and has proven popular among Android device owners. It doesn’t suffer from the display issues that have affected iPhone Duo buyers, despite Samsung Display providing foldable displays for both devices.

While Apple has yet to confirm the cause of its issues, some have suggested it is down to a specific part within the iPhone Duo’s hinge. It’s unclear how widespread the problem is, but those affected should take their device to an Apple Store for support.
