Record Video From Front And Rear Camera On iPhone At The Same Time, Here’s How

Recording video using mobile devices is fast replacing capturing still images. The introduction of apps like Vine, Snapchat and the evolution of Instagram now allowing video uploads has meant that more and more iPhone owners are utilizing the native camera to capture that live real-time action. The recent rise of the “selfie” phenomenon adds additional complexity to the situation. Do you use the forward-facing camera to record your own reaction to certain events, or do you use the rear-mounted camera module to actually record what’s happening? Now, thanks to the Twicer app, users no longer need to make that life altering decision.

Twicer essentially allows iPhone owners to “add commentary to videos” by creating an internal app environment similar to how we think about a picture-in-picture type setup. The app features an extremely simple user-interface that allows users to capture a video using the rear camera while utilizing the front camera to record a commentary alongside the main action. Users then have the option to share created videos directly to a plethora of social networks as well as interact and view other people’s created videos in a social network-esque timeline.

Getting started with Twicer is actually pretty easy.

First and foremost download and launch the Twicer app – download link at the end. First-time users will be greeted with a simple walkthrough of the app’s features before being asked to provide access to the camera function of the device. Tapping on the Twicer icon will take you instantly to the video recording screen containing a familiar record button. Tapping this button will begin the recording function of the app – no surprises here. Users will be able to select either the main video or corner video to record. Swapping between the two is a familiar task by using the switch option in the bottom left-hand corner. A simple user-interface keeps users updated on how much of the maximum 60 seconds-per-video has been recorded.

When the video has been recorded, and the user is happy with it, it can then be shared to the Twicer network or a variety of other social networks. A free-of-charge account will need to be created before this is possible.

It’s actually quite unbelievable that it has taken this long for an app to come to prominence considering how useful it is. Download it for yourself and see what you think.
