Today’s the day, folks, and as everybody brace themselves for a first look at the iPhone 5, we’re just reminding you guys that we will indeed have every little detail covered right here at Redmond Pie. With a plethora of different announcements expected aside from the holy grail that is the smartphone, it’s an exciting day in prospect for any tech fan, and whatever Apple decides to unveil today, we’ll have it right here for your reading pleasure.

The iPhone 5 is quite obviously the device drawing the most attention, although given the manner in which it stormed the market back in 2007, this is certainly of very little surprise. We’re expecting a taller, slightly thinner device packing an aluminum backplate, smaller dock connector, repositioned headphone jack and a Nano-SIM tray.

It will be among the first devices to ship with the brand-new iOS 6 mobile software for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and don’t be surprised if Scott Forstall takes a great deal of time to mull over the features we’ve already seen, and features which are yet to be revealed. We will, of course, have a separate post on iOS 6, summing up each and every feature of the upcoming iOS firmware.

The forgotten iPod touch – along with the iPod shuffle and iPod nano – are all expected to receive significant upgrades this time around, and although codenames for each device have identified their changed status, little is known with regards to what they’ll look like or which features they’ll carry. But to cut the story short, we’re excited what the new iPods will finally bring to the market, and we’ll be featuring it right here – pictures and all!

Whatever happens today at the Yerba Buena from 10AM PT or 1PM ET – whether Apple decides to reveal any of those iMac refreshes or not just keeps things iOS – we won’t skip any of it and we’ll make sure that the announcements are covered in great detail and bring the best content for our readers to mull over, so make sure you stay tuned to our coverage here at Redmond Pie!
