OmniPlan For iPad Is The Best Organizing And Planning App We’ve Ever Seen, But Comes At A Steep Price

There are many apps over at the iTunes App Store which purport to over the very best assistance to those leading busy, productive lives. Unfortunately, many don’t just don’t live up to our expectation, but OmniPlan for iPad is a truly wonderful, near-flawless example of an app for those constantly juggling  several tasks or projects at any given time.

Naturally, there are some apps which work better on the iPhone, whilst others are much more aptly complimented by the larger, tablet display, and those which attempt to depict and display every meticulous detail of your in-progress projects are most certainly suited to the latter.

OmniPlan

It manages to remain detailed without being cluttered, and allows you to break down your tasks into manageable little chunks. Designed specifically for those working as a part of a team, you can share details with colleagues, accept or reject changes, and generally liaise with others.

The interface is very well designed, and with the change tracking feature, you can keep tabs on any changes you’ve made, and if you’re unsure, you can always go back and make specific changes.

It includes a Gantt Chart-like view of your projects, and is highly smart and customizable  to a degree seldom seen thus far in the short existence of the iPad. For example, among the sleuth of great features, you can alter dependencies, meaning certain tasks rely on one to be ended before beginning, and given most similar apps operate in a strictly timetable-only basis, it’s certainly a welcome feature.

Moreover, ‘violations’ flag logically impossible tasks, and rather than simply offering a message along the lines of “does not compute”, it will give details of why a task cannot be completed, as well as a few more viable solutions.

Such an impressive array of features in one package doesn’t come cheap, though, and if you want OmniPlan to give your life a more organized disposition, then it will set you back $49.99. Still, if you rarely get any respite from the constant barrage of work, it will be fifty dollars well spent.
