New Unannounced Apple Monitor Spied In Regulatory Database

A new as-yet-unannounced Apple monitor has appeared in a Chinese regulatory database, but it’s unclear whether it is an Apple Studio Display or Pro Display XDR.

The filing, spotted by MacRumors, carries the model number A3350, which does not match any currently shipping product within Apple’s monitor options.

However, that would suggest that Apple is getting ready to announce a new monitor, with new products often appearing in regulatory databases shortly before being unveiled.

The current Studio Display was filed in the same database around three months before it launched in March 2022, so perhaps the next Studio Display will be released around March or April this year, if that is what the filing is for. It would make sense for Apple to unveil a new Studio Display alongside the next Mac Studio with M5 chips.

There have been rumors of Apple working on a new Studio Display that would offer a 120Hz ProMotion variable refresh rate as well as HDR support. The A19 or A19 Pro chip is also thought to be on the new spec sheet, as is support for mini-LED backlighting of an LCD panel.

The current Studio Display was first released in March 2022, so a new model could debut almost four years later. The Apple Pro Display XDR is even older, having debuted in December of 2019.
