Apple has already announced M5 versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Apple Vision Pro. Now, a new report claims that it is planning to launch the M5 MacBook Air in spring of 2026.
Writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that Apple is also working on M5 Pro and M5 Max versions of the MacBook Pro for a release in the early part of 2026.

Those hoping for new designs when the 16-inch MacBook Pro and M5 MacBook Air are announced will be left disappointed, however. No design refresh is expected until 2027, possibly with the addition of a new OLED display.
The MacBook Air is also expected to have to wait until 2027 for any big design refresh, so the current 13- and 15-inch designs are likely to stick around for now.
Apple is also thought to be developing updated M5-series versions of the Mac Studio and Mac mini, with the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips being used in the former. There is no word yet on when those new desktop machines will be announced, but it’s unlikely to be before the end of this year at the very earliest.
The M5 14-inch MacBook Pro and M5 iPad Air are both available for preorder right now and will officially go on sale on October 22.
