M5 iPad Pro And Vision Pro Launches Are Imminent

We have known this for a while now based on all the rumors and leaks and now it seems like Apple is about to launch both M5 powered Vision Pro as well as M5 powered iPad Pro.

Whether Apple will announce them in a separate October event held at its campus, or via a press release remains to be same.

Since Apple is also expected to refresh Apple TV as well as MacBook Pros with M5 chips, it’s likely that we are heading towards another Apple event in October rather than announcements via simple press releases.

Over the weekend, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that based on recent video leaks of M5 MacBook Pros as well as FCC leak on M5 Vision Pro, Apple’s release of the aforementioned hardware is “imminent”.

Based on what we can glean from the videos, there’s little coming to the iPad Pro other than the shift from the M4 to the M5 processor.

One thing we haven’t clearly seen in these videos is a second front-facing camera, which I reported weeks ago has been planned for this iPad Pro. I can say with certainty that M5 iPad Pros within Apple have the second lens. There’s a history of Apple testing features at an advanced stage before pulling them (such as certain storage capacities or features like a second dock connector on the original iPad), but this would be a strange, last-minute cut.

If we are indeed having an event in October, Apple will be sending invites for it shortly, perhaps this week. We will of course let you know whenever Apple makes the event official. Stay tuned for more on this space.
