Apple’s next top-tier iPhone could raise the bar for battery life yet again.
According to a known Weibo leaker, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to feature a larger battery than any previous Pro Max model.

The rumor points to a battery capacity between 5,100 and 5,200 mAh. That would be a noticeable jump from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which already packs a sizable 5,088 mAh battery. Apple rates the current model for up to 39 hours of battery life, and independent tests have ranked it among the longest-lasting smartphones on the market.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max’s gains would not come from battery size alone. It is also expected to use Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chip, reportedly built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. That should deliver better power efficiency, helping the phone last even longer on a single charge. To fit the larger battery, the device may be slightly thicker than the previous model.
With both a bigger battery and a more efficient chip, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could comfortably push past the 40-hour battery life mark, keeping Apple ahead in one of the most important areas for buyers.

Other rumored features include a smaller Dynamic Island, Apple’s C2 modem, a 24-megapixel front camera, and an upgraded main camera with variable aperture. Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro lineup later this year.
