iOS 27.0.1 Jailbreak Shown Off For iPhone 18 Pro

A new untethered iOS 27.0.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 18 Pro has been shown off by a security firm called Calif.io at the Hexacon event in Paris.

The jailbreak is notable because it works on Apple’s latest iPhone, running its latest software, and the root access it grants remains available even after the iPhone has been restarted.

The ability for the jailbreak to persist even after the restart of the iPhone is what makes this an untethered jailbreak, removing the need to connect the iPhone to a computer each time. The new jailbreak is a big deal for those who want to be able to jailbreak modern iPhones running the latest software.

The Calif.io jailbreak was shown off during the opening keynote of the Hexacon event. The session opened with a keynote by Bruce Dang and Thai Duong (XorNinja), both well known for their work in Apple security research. Dang previously worked on iOS security and Private Cloud Compute at Apple. The firm has also been strengthening its Apple expertise, bringing in people behind widely used firmware tools.

A video showing the jailbreak has been shared online, with the root shell available around two minutes after the iPhone was turned on. However, it’s not known whether the jailbreak will work on iOS 27.2, which is currently in beta. It’s also important to note that this is not a public jailbreak, so there is no change for those who own Apple’s latest iPhones.
