iOS 27 Will Bring New Features For Upcoming iPhone Fold

iOS 27 is reportedly being built with the upcoming iPhone Fold in mind. Yes, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is finally on the horizon, and the software is getting ready for it.

According to Mark Gurman, iOS 27 will include features designed specifically for the foldable form factor.

That means Apple could be adding new multitasking tools, screen layout changes, and other interface tweaks to make folding and unfolding actually feel useful, not just flashy.

The iPhone Fold is rumored to feature a 7.8-inch or 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer screen, basically giving you iPad mini size when open. Apple’s also working on reducing the display crease and using a liquid metal hinge for a smoother and more durable fold.

Interestingly, it might skip Face ID in favor of Touch ID, likely due to the flexible screen design. And yes, it’ll be pricey, rumors suggest it’ll cost around $2,000, making it the most expensive iPhone yet.

The foldable iPhone is expected in 2026, but Apple is kicking off iOS 27 development soon to get everything ready.
