Apple has just made available to download iOS 26.1 RC version ahead of final public release for iPhone users.
This comes a week after beta 4 was released to developers of Apple Developer Program portal about a week ago. The aforementioned RC version of iOS 26.1 comes alongside RC versions of iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1 and visionOS 26.1.
To download iOS 26.1 RC and others, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device itself and grab the OTA update from there. Alternatively, you can grab the IPSW file of iOS 26.1 RC from developer.apple.com and update to it using iTunes on Windows or Finder on Mac.
As for what’s new in iOS 26.1, Apple Intelligence is now available in more languages in the latest updates, including Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese. Additionally, AirPods Live Translation is now compatible with Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese (both Mandarin Traditional and Simplified) in iOS 26.1. Apart from this, there’s a toggle to adjust the opacity of Liquid Glass, a swipe to disable the Lock Screen Camera, and visual changes to Calendar, Safari, Apple Music, and Photos.
With RC version now out, Apple will likely release final version of iOS 26.1 and others next week. We will of course let you know whenever that happens. Stay tuned to us for more on this space.
