iOS 26 Beta 6 New Changes, Release Notes And Features

Here are iOS 26 beta 6 new features, changes and release notes that you as an iPhone or iPad user need to know about.

With Apple having released beta 6 only a week after beta 5, it means that the company is now on final stretch when it comes to iOS 26 and from here on will mostly focus on bug fixes, performance and battery life improvement on iPhone and iPad. What this also means is that iOS 26 features are now mostly locked and will not change as drastically between now and final public release next month.

With iPhone 17 series set to be announced next month, Apple will ship its new flagship iPhones with iOS 26 pre-installed and that means that everyone else will get the taste of final version of iOS 26 in third or fourth week of September.

With that out of the way, here’s a look at everything that has changed or new in iOS 26 beta 6 and iPadOS 26 beta 6 for iPhone and iPad:

7 brand new ringtones for iPhone users.
The clock on Lock Screen seems more glassier and with a nice shimmer effect.
On iPadOS 26, app icons are now at the bottom of windows in Exposé view.
New app opening/closing animation.
Readability improvement in Liquid Glass UI in edge cases.
Big performance improvement. Everything feels so much snappier on both iPhone and iPad. Working as smooth as iOS 18.6 now.
Overheating issue also fixed on some models.
Classic Mode Switching option removed for Camera app.
Swipe direction in Camera app has returned to the way it was in initial beta of iOS 26.
