IKEA Is Giving Customers Miniature Beds For Their iPhones To Sleep In

IKEA has worked its way into many people’s smart homes thanks to its bulbs and other accessories.

But it now wants you to stop using your iPhone instead of sleeping, and it’s giving a way an iPhone-sized bed to help.

The small bed is NFC-enabled, and will automatically prompt users to launch the IKEA app when they put their iPhone to bed. The idea is that by using this bed for their iPhone, users will not use it when they should be going to sleep themselves.

It’s an interesting, quirky idea, but there’s one problem — it’s only available to IKEA customers in the United Arab Emirates. And even then, IKEA is only giving it to people who spend at least AED 750 in one of its stores, MacRumors reports.

Every phone bed comes with built-in NFC tech, making sleep effortlessly rewarding. Here’s how it works:
– Download the IKEA UAE app.
– (For iOS users) When prompted, allow Motion & Fitness tracking.
– Place your phone on its bed and tap the notification to open the app.
– That’s it. Your sleep time will track in the background (no counter will appear).
– Complete seven nights of seven-hour sleep, and earn your voucher.

There is a chance that IKEA could roll this little bed out to other countries in the future, but there is no word yet on whether that will be the case or indeed which countries will receive it, unfortunately.
