How To Buy iPhone 7 On iOS 10.1.1 For Jailbreak

Here’s a guide on how to buy an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 10.1 – 10.1.1 firmware for jailbreak purposes.

If you are in the market for a brand new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, but are also one of the millions of people who care passionately about a jailbreak, then it stands to reason that you’re going to want to maximise your chances of purchasing an iPhone 7 that can be jailbroken right out of the box.

There’s no concrete or bulletproof way of ensuring that a device purchased will come with iOS 10.1 or 10.1.1 pre-installed, but using existing services and a little bit of knowledge can go a long way to ensuring the best chances of success.

Step 1: This is really only relevant if you’re going to be purchasing an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus that allows you to have access to the serial number of the device. Before making the purchase, check the box of the iPhone in question and make a note of the serial number.

Step 2: Next, you’re going to need to enlist the services of the SNDeepInfo web service to find out a little bit more about the device that you’re looking to buy based on its serial number. Take the serial number as noted above and head to sndeep.info/en. Enter the serial number in the provided box and click Show info.

Step 3: The web service will bring back a ton of information about the device based on that serial number, but what we are really interested in is the week number that it was manufactured in. Based on our own experience, if the SNDeepInfo website states that the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus in question was manufactured during weeks 45-50 then there is a very good chance that it will actually have iOS 10.1.1 pre-installed as that particular version of the firmware was released in week 44, meaning that you can buy in confidence of actually getting a device that can be immediately jailbroken.

If the information returned suggests that the device was manufactured prior to week 45, or after week 51, then there is a very good chance that it could come with a version of iOS before iOS 10.1 or even with iOS 10.2 installed, which we know is not currently offered via the latest Yalu + Mach_Portal jailbreak.

This is by no means bulletproof, and really only has any degree of accuracy when purchasing a device directly through Apple or a retailer that hasn’t had the opportunity to open the box and use it. Of course, if it’s a second-hand device being purchased via secondary channels, it doesn’t really matter when it was manufactured as the initial owner could have manually updated it prior to selling.
