GTA3

If you own an Xbox 360, chances are you have played one of the Grand Theft Auto releases. If you own a PlayStation 3 however, chances are as high as an Xbox 360 user that you have played at least one of the Grand Theft Auto releases. Even if you own a smartphone, tablet computer or a portable gaming device the chances are high that at one point in time you will play Grand Theft Auto.

To celebrate ten years since the initial release, Rockstar Games recently launched an iOS and Android version of the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto III game which sees the main protagonist taking to the streets of Liberty City after a jailbreak (no pun intended for you iOS fans) to wreak his own special blend of havoc. If that wasn't enough of a Christmas present for you, the development team then launched a holiday sale offering 40% off the game.

Well for you those of you have purchased the game upon launch, or took advantage of the sale, Grand Theft Auto III for iOS and Android is the game that just keeps giving. Not only can you enjoy countless hours of mission fuelled mayhem, but because the game is essentially just a copy of the PC release ten years ago, you can also use old PC modifications to increase the fun.

Obviously to allow you to use this you need to first of all own the game on either an iOS or Android device. You will also need some knowledge of the old PC mods and tricks, or at least know how to use Google to find them. Thirdly, you will need to the ability to get at your device’s file structure to allow you to implement the modification. On an Android device this is as simple as navigating to the Android/Data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3 directory. However, due to the closed nature of the iOS system you will need to have a jailbroken device to enable you to find the correct directory and apply the modifications.
