Google’s Latest Pixel Ad Mocks Apple’s iPhone With A Wicked Twist

Google is no stranger to poking fun at Apple and the iPhone, and it’s done it again — this time using the Wicked: For Good movie’s theatrical launch as a vehicle.

The new ad, which uses the #BestPhonesForever: For Good tagline,. features an iPhone and a Pixel. The ad then takes a turn as the two phones break into song.

The ad then sees Google claim that it was the first to offer a number of features that Apple later copied for the iPhone — including call screening and removing unwanted parts of an image.

Oh Pixel, I’m so lucky to have a friend like you. You’ve always inspired me!

You do things first that show me the way. Like fixing photos, screening calls, or building an AI assistant you can have real conversations with.

The ad seems more designed to appease Google’s followers and poke fun at the iPhone than it is actually drumming up sales. But there is no denying that it does have a point, at least for the features mentioned.

Apple has been playing catchup in AI-related features for some time, only recently starting to add some that have been available in the Android world for years. The release of iOS 18 and iOS 26 have helped, but the ongoing delay of AI-powered Siri features serves to reiterate Google’s strength in the area.
