In a surprising twist from the courtroom, Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that the company’s Gemini AI might soon be joining forces with Apple Intelligence, possibly as early as this year.
That’s right, Google’s ChatGPT competitor could be coming to your iPhone with the launch of iOS 19.

Bloomberg reports that the comment came during Google’s ongoing antitrust trial, where Pichai shared that he’s been in talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook throughout 2024. He’s hopeful a deal will be wrapped up by mid-year. Apple’s big developer event, WWDC, kicks off on June 9, where iOS 19 is set to be announced.
Last year, Apple used the same stage to unveil Apple Intelligence and its ChatGPT partnership. So, if history repeats itself, we might see a similar announcement this year, this time with Google in the mix.
If Gemini makes it into iOS 19, it would likely work alongside Siri in the same way ChatGPT does. Think: “Siri, ask Gemini…” or Siri automatically tapping Gemini for certain requests where it might be stronger.
That could mean more options, smarter AI responses, and even a bit of rivalry between AI models baked right into iOS.
Nothing’s officially confirmed yet, but the pieces are lining up. We’ll be keeping a close eye on WWDC for any Gemini-related announcements.
