Enable Two-Step Verification On Your Amazon Account, Here’s How

Companies and individuals are constantly looking for ways of making their services, and the experience of using their services, a lot more secure. Considering we live in an increasingly security conscious world where our connected lives are becoming more and more vulnerable, it’s vitally important to be as secure as possible when interacting with third-party services. Thankfully, Amazon, one of the largest online retailers in existence, has now put in place a process that allows customers to increase two-step verification against their accounts.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to get the new layer of security up and running for your Amazon account.

Step 1: First and foremost, you’ll need to log into your Amazon account. When you’ve done this you will need to click on the Your Account section in the top right.

Step 2: With the Your Account section, scroll down to the Settings section. You’ll then need to select the Change Account Settings option.

Step 3: At the bottom of the Change Account Settings page select the Edit button next to the Advanced Security Settings option.

Step 4: Within this area Amazon has now added a new Two-Step Verification option that provides a little information about the process and the security benefits that it provides. Click the Get Started option to begin the process.

Step 5: Amazon’s website will now guide you through a three-step process of setting up the Two-Step Verification. This provides an individual option that can be chosen; such as choosing to use an SMS Service or a dedicated application to enable this level of verification.

Step 6: In order to make the process as seamless and as secure as possible, Amazon also allows individuals to set up a back-up verification method for maximum security.

It’s really about time that Amazon introduced this level of functionality that affords a new level of security to its customers. We’ve already seen a large number of other high profile companies and services enable the existence of two-step verification on their own platforms. Amazon had no choice but to follow in those well laid out footprints.

It makes your account a lot more secure. Amazon has made it as easy as possible for the end user, and it provides an instant peace of mind for those who regularly interact with any of Amazon’s services. It’s really a no brainer so get over to your Amazon account and do it now.
