You can now download macOS 26 Tahoe, the final version, and install it on your Mac at home. Here’s how.
Apple releases big new versions of macOS every year and it’s been beta testing macOS 26 Tahoe ever since it was announced at WWDC in June. It’s been through months of testing, and now is the time for you to install it as well. The update comes alongside the iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, visionOS 26, and tvOS 26 releases.

As is always the case with Apple’s annual releases, the macOS 26 Tahoe update brings with it a raft of new features and upgrades. The most obvious change is the new Liquid Glass design language. The same look has been rolled out to all of Apple’s other devices, and brings with it a refreshed interface with more transparency across the board.
Apple has also upgraded Apple Intelligence as well as all of its first-party apps, including Notes, Mail, and more.
Apple has confirmed that the macOS 26 Tahoe software update is available for all M-series Macs as well as some straggling Intel models.
The full list of compatible Macs includes:
- MacBook Air M1 or later
- MacBook Pro M1 or later
- MacBook Pro 16-inch (Intel) 2019
