Looking to download the latest iPadOS 26 RC version via OTA update or the IPSW links file? Here’s how to install Apple’s latest developer beta on your iPad.
Apple has now released the first iPadOS 26 Release Candidate as it works towards making the update available to the public.

Apple has been testing the iPadOS 26 software with developers and those on the public beta program for months now, and the final release to the world is just around the corner.
This release is likely to be the last before iPadOS 26 is signed off for public release, assuming no more issues are identified as a result of this Release Candidate update.
That being said, this is still classified as a beta, so expect that there could be issues here and there. For that reason, we recommend that you only install this beta on a device that you don’t need to work perfectly 100% of the time.
Assuming you’re a registered developer, installing iPadOS 26 RC is incredibly easy.
Step 1: Open the Settings app and choose General, followed by Software Update.
Step 2: Tap Beta Updates.
Step 3: Change the Apple ID that is configured if needed. It can be different from the one you’re using as your main Apple ID, so long as it’s registered on Apple’s developer program.
Step 4: Select the iPadOS 26 Developer Beta.
Step 5: Return to the Software Update screen and choose Download and Install. Enter your passcode if prompted and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
That’s all there is to it. After a restart, you’ll be running the Release Candidate version of iPadOS 26!
