Looking to download the iPadOS 26 final release version via OTA update or the IPSW links file? Here’s how to install Apple’s latest iPad software on your tablet.
After all of the waiting, Apple has now officially made the iPadOS 26 software available for download by anyone who has a compatible iPad.
Apple has been testing the iPadOS 26 software with developers and those on the public beta program for months now, and the final release to the world comes as Apple also releases a raft of software updates. Updates for the iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro are also now available for download.
This release comes after Apple released its Release Candidate version of iPadOS 26 for final developer and public beta testing to ensure no further issues remained. That means that it should now be safe to install iPadOS 26 if you’ve been waiting for the beta program to come to a close.
That being said, some people do prefer to wait until a later release to ensure that everything is working as it should be. Thankfully, the latter iPadOS 26 betas have been solid and the issues have been minimal, so we don’t expect the final release to be problem-prone.
You can now download iPadOS 26 on your iPad via the OTA method in the Settings app. Alternatively, you can download the IPSW file and install the update manually if that’s the route you’d rather take.
