You can now download iOS 27.2 beta 1 alongside iPadOS 27.2 beta 1, macOS 27.2 beta 1, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and more. Here’s everything new in this release.
Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 27.2 for the iPhone, just days after it released iOS 27 to the public. The update skips iOS 27.1, which is a software version that appears to be specific to the iPhone Duo, which will go on sale next month.
The first iOS 27.2 beta brings with it a number of changes for iPhone users to test, including a newly redesigned Health app. This app was first shown off during the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo announcement earlier this month. Additional language support for Siri AI is also present in this beta, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish all supported.
Other changes include a tweaked Apple Music labels look, support for Apple TV app profiles, and a dual capture mode for Group FaceTime. Finally, Up Next is now called New Episodes inside the Apple Podcasts app, while the Continue Playing section now lives below New Episodes.
We don’t yet know when Apple intends to make the iOS 27.2 software update available to the public, but it will be some time in October. Apple confirmed as much previously, saying that A more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, onscreen awareness, and even more systemwide app actions, Siri AI is now rolling out as a beta in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish coming in October.”
Update x1: Alongside iOS 27.2 beta 1, Apple has also released beta 1 of iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2.
Update x2: iOS 27.2 now seems to be the firmware iPhone Duo will ship to customers come October 23.
