You can now download iOS 26 public beta 1 OTA update along with iPadOS 26, tvOS 26, watchOS 26 and macOS 26.
Apple has today released the first round of public betas for the aforementioned platforms. They’re ready for download right now, but remember that they should only be installed on devices that are dedicated to testing.
These software updates are all betas and should be treated as such. That means that problems and bugs should be expected.
Apple announced the slew of software updates at the WWDC event on June 9 and a developer beta program has been running ever since. Now, the first public betas are available for download which means that you can install them right now.
These public betas arrive after the developer beta has ensured most of the biggest bugs have been fixed, but it’s important to only install these on devices that you don’t need to work 100%.
They can all be downloaded for free, but people will first need to head to the Apple public beta program website in order to register their Apple ID and then download the updates to their iPhone, Apple TV, Mac, or Apple Watch. You can learn more about how to download and install these updates here.
Apple hasn’t yet confirmed exactly when the new updates will be released in final form to the public, beyond a vague fall timeframe. We expect them to arrive in or around September alongside the new iPhone 17 lineup.
