Sony has announced that PlayStation Portal owners can stream their games from the cloud for the first time.
The announcement came via the PlayStation blog, and confirmed that the new cloud streaming service would only be available to Portal owners who also pay for the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

Cloud Streaming unlocks new ways to play: enjoy a game side-by-side with a friend who’s using your PS5 under a separate account, or stream your favorite game while someone else watches a movie on the console. Cloud Streaming also makes it easier to enjoy PS5 games on the go – at a hotel, café, friend’s place, or anywhere else with a high-speed internet Wi-Fi connection – since you can keep playing even when your PS5 console back home is powered off or is in use by another account.
Sony says that PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can stream “select digital PS5 games from their own library,” with thousands of titles supported. I
n addition, the announcement also confirmed that hundreds of games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classic Catalog are also supported for cloud-based gaming on the Portal.
Until now, the PlayStation Portal could only stream games from the owner’s own PS5, whether that locally over WiFi or via an internet connection from outside the home.
The addition of cloud gaming support is joined by a redesigned user interface for the Portal. A new remote play home screen has been added as has a new dedicated cloud streaming screen, among other tweaks.
