Change Color Of iPhone Keyboard With Beautiful ‘Dashing’ Theme For iOS

The jailbreak scene is not only invaluable for all those practical tweaks that enhance the functionality of iOS, but also a great wealth of resources to those looking to freshen up the look of their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Color Keyboard, as we first reported on when it was introduced back in 2011, lives up to its name by allowing you to create all kinds of interesting looks to your keys, and a currently free theme by the name of “Dashing” is one of the best CK themes we’ve seen to date.

Dashing is certainly an apt description of a theme which maintains the classy, clean look of iOS while also giving those in need of a change something alternative to look at. The new keyboard offers a charcoal gray finish, while the characters look as though they’ve been lovingly lazered out with the utmost precision.

Obviously, as you can see from the images, the Dashing theme goes rather nicely with a monochrome color scheme, and if you were looking to achieve a more complete look akin to the on depicted, you could certainly experiment with Saurik’s very own WinterBoard.

At this point in time, Dashing is absolutely free, although the developer does plan to add a bunch of alternative color options to the theme in the near future, which will cost money, but considering how awesome Dashing looks, the few extra bucks would be worth spending. That said, I really, really like this original look, and if Apple ever did decide to opt for a darker look within iOS, you feel this is the kind of thing they would consider.

The download link can be found below, and although the instructions are provided within the .zip file, suffice to say you will need a jailbroken iPhone and a way of SSHing into it, should you wish to install the Dashing theme. And, of course, you will need the Color Keyboard tweak installed on your device, which costs $1.99 over at the BigBoss repository.
