SkyDrive Explorer Lets You Browse And Upload Files Right From Your Android Device

unnamed

Having personally enjoyed my limited experience with the cloud services of the Redmond-based software maker, I am always on the lookout for any third-party SkyDrive offerings, and Android SkyDrive Explorer by developer William Killerud is a great example of an organized and functional SkyDrive assistant.

As the name suggests, it allows you to browse your SkyDrive files directly from your device, and it does feel somewhat native. You can easily view your images or listen to your music tracks straight from the cloud, and if you wish, you can save them locally with a single click.

Conversely, you can easily upload files stored on your device straight to your SkyDrive account, and you can also manage your cloud content by creating new folders.

Android SkyDrive Browser is free of charge, and thankfully, doesn't pack any ads in, either, allowing you to enjoy a smooth, uninterrupted SkyDrive experience. It's not quite the finished article just yet, however, since you cannot fully control and alter your SkyDrive content, but the developer has promised features such as cut and copy, delete and rename will be arriving in the not-so-distant future.

It requires Android version 2.1 and up, so most of you shouldn't experience any compatibility issues, and if you're leaning towards Microsoft's offering in the cloud Battle Royal, Android SkyDrive Explorer is certainly one you should have in your inventory.

It’s absolutely free, and you can download it right now from the link below.

The battle for supremacy in the cloud computing market is hotting up, and although Apple was the first of the big companies to push forth its iCloud service last year, Microsoft and Google have both joined the party in the last couple of months with their SkyDrive and Google Drive services respectively.

Microsoft’s SkyDrive was properly launched last month, and the early critiques have been largely positive. The data packages – which can be purchased on an annual basis once the generous free allowance of 7GB is used up – are very reasonable, and the few who adopted very early on in the program have been blessed 25GB of cloud real estate.
