Apple’s New Mac Ad Takes Aim At Windows’ Infamous “Blue Screen of Death”

You don’t need to have been a big computer user for long to know that Windows has a long and storied history. Unfortunately, a lot of that history is caught up in the infamous ‘Blue Screen of Death’, or BSOD.

It’s a screen that Windows historically threw whenever it encountered a problem that it couldn’t recover from. Now, Apple has taken aim at the BSOD with a new Mac ad that pokes fun at it.

The new ad carries on the running “The Underdogs” series in which people are seen using Apple devices at work. The bumbling team usually comes out on top after using Apple devices to get the job done, and this latest ad is no different. Oh, and it’s more of a TV show than an ad — it runs for more than eight minutes.

The Underdogs are ready for their first-ever trade show until a PC outage strikes and the Blue Screen of Death threatens their beloved Container Con. Thanks to the security of their Apple products, the Underdogs are unaffected and experience extraordinary success. See how the magic of Mac, iPhone, and iPad comes together to help the Underdogs meet potential clients, bag new business, and even lend a hand to a fellow packaging company.

You can check the full ad out to see how the Apple-loving team rescues the day despite a PC outage that would otherwise cause chaos. It might be long, but it’s worth the watch — even if you have to do it with your tongue pushed firmly into your cheek.
