Apple’s iPhone 18 lineup is still almost a full year from release, but a new report claims one device will have 50% more RAM than the current model.
The report, courtesy of The Bell out of Korea, claims that we can expect the next-gen iPhones to have more RAM than ever before.

The current iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, all feature 12GB of RAM. Those figures are already a sizable increase over the iPhones that came before them. But the entry-level iPhone 17 is still limited to 8GB of RAM, something that is set to change with the iPhone 18 lineup.
The report claims that Apple has asked Samsung to increase supply of LPDDR5X chips for the next iPhone release, but those chips only come in 12GB and 16GB configurations. That means that we can expect the iPhone 18 to have at least 12GB of RAM, while it’s possible that the other models could be bumped to 16GB.
Apple isn’t expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and new iPhone Air until the fall of 2026. However, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are thought to be set for a new early 2028 release timeframe, splitting the lineup’s schedule for the first time.

The first foldable iPhone is expected to be released alongside the other premium iPhones in or around September of next year.
