Apple’s iPhone 17e Is Now Rumored For A New Design

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e release is set to get some new changes, including a new design. That’s according to a new leak by the Weibo poster Digital Chat Station.

This leaker has shared various tidbits previously and this time they cite Apple’s supply chain as the source of their information. According to the leak, Apple’s next budget handset will feature a new design along with a Dynamic Island and a fast A19 chip. The current iPhone 16e still has a notch, so this would be the first time that the Dynamic Island has made its way to this price point.

The iPhone 17e is expected to have a 6.1-inch OLED display with a locked 60Hz refresh rate, so no ProMotion support. The front-facing camera is expected to be a 12-megapixel part, while Face ID is also expected to live inside the Dynamic Island. The rear camera is set to be a 48-megapixel shooter.

As for when the new iPhone 17e will be released, it’s expected that it will arrive in the first part of 2026. Previous reports by supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo as well as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, have pointed to that timeframe previously, and we’ve seen nothing to suggest otherwise of late.

Before that, Apple is set to announce the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models during a streamed event that will take place in the first week or so of September.
