Apple’s “F1: The Movie” has picked up an Oscar at the 98th Academy Awards. It won out in the “Best Sound” category after having already picked up the same gong from the BAFTA Film Awards and Critics Choice Awards.
The Jerry Bruckheimer movie is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Brad Pitt as a former Formula 1 racing driver whose career was ended by an on-track incident decades ago.

That doesn’t stop Pitt’s character from making a return to the F1 world years later, however, in an attempt to help an ailing team. Pitt’s character is then tasked with dealing with a newcomer driver as his team partner, and all that entails.
“F1: The Movie” has already experienced a hugely successful period at the Box Office and is now available to stream globally as part of the Apple TV subscription. It can also be streamed as a video-on-demand option.
Apple has already lauded the movie as the highest-grossing sports movie of all time, although it would have been hopeful of more Oscar wins. It was originally nominated for four Oscars in total, including the “Best Picture,” “Visual Effects,” “Sound,” and “Film Editing” categories.
Apple has already teased that there could well be a sequel to the popular movie, but timelines are yet to be confirmed for when fans can expect its debut.
