Apple TV Gets New Channels: TED, Tastemade And Young Hollywood

Apple has just added three new channels to Apple TV in the U.S., including TED, Tastemade, and Young Hollywood. Head over the jump for more information on this new development.

Around three months earlier, Apple had added new channels to the list of those already available on Apple TV. Those included UFC, The Scene, Fusion, and Dailymotion. Now, three months later, Apple TV users will have access to the TED Talks videos, as well as premium food, travel, and celebrity related content.

For those unaware, TED Talks is an organized talk show – hosted by guest speakers – covering a plethora of influential topics ranging from science, technology to religion and more. Easily one of the most useful tools for personal education on different matters and research purposes for students. On the other hand, Tastemade is a premium food and travel program for the foodie in you, while Young Hollywood covers the latest celebrity news and gossips which includes news and interviews.

With the addition of these new channels once in a while, Apple TV users are increasingly looking forward to the day when the Cupertino based giant releases the much awaited – and needed – next-generation Apple TV 4 set-top box. There have been reports speculating that the company is already working on it, and it is expected that the device will be announced at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference due to be held in June. There are also reports lurking around the Internet suggesting that Apple may be looking at launching its home-grown streaming TV service as well, and that too might see an announcement at WWDC 2015.

Apple, in collaboration with HBO, will also be launching HBO Now, the on-demand service in April for $14.99 a month, but that should be preceded with the launch of the new Apple TV sporting an A8 chip, and including the ability to run the App Store and Siri along with a new and redesigned remote control as well. The new TV service which Apple is working on, will be available for prices between $30 and $40 per month and would consist of 25 channels, including ABC, CBS and FOX.
