Apple has added support for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup to the Sports app, allowing users to follow their favorite team throughout the tournament.
The World Cup will officially kick off on June 11, so Apple has gotten its Sports app ducks in a row in plenty of time. The app supports Live Activities in the Dynamic Island as well as on the Lock Screen, making it easy for soccer fans to keep tabs on games as they take place.

The Apple Sports app now supports more than 30 of the world’s top soccer teams, MacRumors reports, with the World Cup sure to be a popular addition ahead of the summer tournament.
This 2026 World Cup is the first to sport a new 48-team format rather than the usual 32 teams, making it the biggest World Cup yet. It will take place in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The opening ceremony will take place on June 11 in Mexico, with the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City as the venue. The final will be held on 19 July at the New York New Jersey Stadium, according to FIFA’s schedule.
The Apple Sports app comes preinstalled on all iPhones, and you can follow a whole range of sports in addition to soccer all year round.
