FineWoven is back—just not where you might expect it. At its recent “Awe dropping” iPhone 17 event, Apple introduced new MagSafe wallets and AirTag key rings made from the once-controversial material.
Available in Fox Orange, Midnight Purple, Navy, Moss, and Black, the accessories are priced at $59 for the wallets and $35 for the AirTag key rings.

They’re designed to complement the iPhone 17 lineup while giving FineWoven another shot at staying in Apple’s ecosystem.
Now, let’s rewind for a moment. FineWoven made its debut in 2023 as Apple’s leather replacement in the name of sustainability. While the eco-friendly story was great, the reality wasn’t: users hated how quickly the cases showed wear, from scratches to dirt and fraying edges. The complaints got so loud that Apple officially pulled FineWoven cases in 2024, replacing them with the new TechWoven options that launched alongside iPhone 17.
So why bring FineWoven back at all? It’s a fair question. Wallets and key rings are less exposed to constant handling and pocket friction compared to phone cases, which could mean fewer durability issues. Plus, Apple still gets to highlight its eco-credentials by offering accessories made from more sustainable materials.
Whether FineWoven can redeem itself remains to be seen. But if you loved the look and texture (and don’t mind testing Apple’s second attempt), these new wallets and key rings might be worth a shot, at least until we hear how they hold up in daily use.
