Apple has today released for download iOS 26.6 beta 1 alongside iPadOS 26.6 beta 1, macOS 26.6 beta 1, tvOS 26.6 beta 1, watchOS 26.6 beta 1 and visionOS 26.6 beta 1 to developers.
The aforementioned updates are available to download right now to those who are registered members of Apple Developer Program portal. Apple is expected to make them available to public testers of Apple Beta Software Update Program soon, likely later in the week or early next week.
As for what is new, these updates are nothing more than bug fix, performance and security update related which improves the overall experience of using v26 before the debut of iOS 27 at WWDC in June this year.
To update to beta 1 of v26.6, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and grab the OTA update from there for your specific device.
As Apple prepares to unveil iOS 27 in early June at its annual developer conference, development on iOS 26 is entering its final stretch. The aforementioned iOS 26.6 release is expected to be a maintenance-focused update, centered mainly on stability enhancements, bug fixes, and overall performance refinements rather than introducing any major new features.
Update: In iOS 26.6 beta 1 code, Apple has appeared to add new alert when you’ve maxed out your blocked contacts list.
