Apple Releases Dedicated Podcasts App For iPhone, iPad And iPod touch

Podcasts

The app is pretty much self-explanatory and allows you to browse through a massive catalogue of thousands of audio and video podcasts from the comfort of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Podcasts really puts your favorite content front and center with a Top Stations tab right beneath the app’s UI. Tapping the said button will take you to a new screen from where you can choose from a variety of different podcasts, all sorted in a neatly presented catalogue view.

Probably the best feature of the app - in my opinion - is iCloud support, which means that all your podcasts are synced between your devices and you can pick up right where you left off, a handy touch to the overall feel of the app, and we approve it!

Probably the biggest downside of the app is; support for iOS 5.1 and above devices only, which means that iOS 4 users are out of luck and have to stick to the usual iTunes medium to listen to their podcasts, or, if they so choose to, use an alternative app.

If you’re already a Podcasts fan and have your podcasts on your PC or Mac on iTunes, the new Podcasts app allows you to sync all of your podcasts with the devices in a few simple clicks.

The app comes in at a very awesome price of free, and is available for download for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 5.1 or higher.

A few days back we reported that Apple might give Podcasts a brand new home in iOS 6 with a dedicated app on its own. In a rather interesting move, Apple has pushed out the said app for iPhone and iPad users and it does exactly what it says on the tin, brings all your podcasts in one place for you to consume/enjoy on your device.

As is the case with any other Apple app, the Podcasts app is no different and from the moment you launch it, you can wishfully tell that a lot of hard work has been put into it, which really, isn’t a big surprise if you ask us.
